Here the embroidery does not decorate the fabric so much as become it: a close-packed grid of chinar-leaf blooms in magenta, marigold and pine covers the kurta almost entirely, the way a true “Bagh” — a garden — is meant to. Choose the silhouette; we cut it to you.
Phulkari — literally “flower work” — is Punjab’s own embroidery, darned in untwisted silk floss from the back of the cloth so the colour blazes on the front. When the flowers are spaced, we call it Phulkari; when they multiply until they cover the ground almost entirely, it earns the older name — Bagh, a garden. This piece is the second kind.
On a soft pistachio ground, chinar-leaf motifs are worked square by square into a dense trellis — magenta, marigold, pine and cream shifting from block to block so no two squares read the same. A shaded placket frames the neckline, and the matching dupatta carries a scalloped border with the same blooms scattered loose across its field.
It is festive but sunlit — made for a mehndi, a haldi, a daytime function or a family lunch where you want the light to catch the thread. Because it is cut to your measurements, the length of the kurta and the ease of the churidar or patiala are yours to decide.
