A vine of hand-painted leaves trailing up ivory cotton-linen, edged in fine thread — a soft, sunlit suit cut to your measure.
A single “bel” — a trailing vine — of peach-and-terracotta leaves is painted by hand up the front of the kurta, then outlined in green scallop stitch with a scatter of sequins where the light should catch. Paired with a plain blush bottom and a leaf-printed dupatta: quiet, and quietly done by hand. Choose the silhouette; we cut it to you.
Not everything from our pind is loud. This piece is painted — each leaf brushed onto the cloth by hand in peach and terracotta, its veins and scalloped edges worked afterwards in fine silk thread, with a light scatter of sequins and little green knots where the buds sit.
It rests on a slubby ivory cotton-linen that keeps its cool in the heat and softens with every wash. The vine climbs the kurta front alone, so a plain blush bottom can carry the eye; the dupatta repeats the leaves in a lighter hand, with woven geometric blocks and a dusty-rose border.
This is a daytime piece — a summer mehndi, a haldi, a brunch, a morning at a wedding where you would rather look unhurried than ornamented. Cut to your measurements, the kurta length and the fall of the patiala or palazzo settle exactly where they should.
Loud is easy. To make quiet look this considered — that is the hand that has done it for forty years. From My Pind — made to measure
